About the Global Issues Initiative
The Global Issues Initiative is a podcast series from the Woodside Priory School. Priory, located in Portola Valley, CA, is a small, independent Benedictine school for students in grades 6-12. Global Issues is an elective taught by Mark Lukach to seniors and juniors. In the class, students researched a particular global issue that they found interesting, and contacted an individual working the San Francisco Bay Area whose career is geared around that issue. The students, in groups of 3, conducted interviews with their individuals and have posted them here.
The first season will feature 6 episodes, featuring interviews with Jason Doherty of the Daraja Academy, Ronald Morgan of Faraday Motorworks, Emily Sugihara of Baggu Bags, Silvestro Bakhiet of the New Sudan Generation, and Annie Leonard of the Story of Stuff. The sixth episode will be a “Making Of” feature. The second season will be produced in the fall of 2008.
